It has been another fantastic term of sport at Cropwell Bishop Primary School, with the highlight being our football team being crowned Rushcliffe Schools’ Cup champions for the second year running.
The boys produced an excellent performance in the final, defeating Gotham Primary School 2-0 to retain the trophy. Lawrence scored both goals in a superb team display, while Archie was deservedly named Player of the Match after an outstanding performance on the wing. The whole squad performed brilliantly throughout the competition, and we are incredibly proud of their achievement.
It has been a busy and successful summer term across many different sports. Pupils represented the school at our first ever cricket tournament at Keyworth, where they competed brilliantly against other local schools and gained valuable match experience. Earlier in the term, our Year 3 and 4 pupils also enjoyed taking part in a cricket festival, developing their skills and enthusiasm for the game – players for the future!!
Elsewhere, our girls’ football team hosted a league fixture against Greythorn, while pupils also represented the school at a golf skills festival, a rounders tournament and the Equals Trust Boccia competition, where they performed brilliantly, winning five of their matches. It has been wonderful to see so many children representing the school across such a wide range of sporting opportunities this term.
A huge well done to every pupil who has represented Cropwell Bishop Primary School this summer. Your effort, resilience, teamwork and determination have been fantastic, and you have all been outstanding ambassadors for our school.
