Following on from the fantastic sporting achievements in Autumn 1, the excitement continued into Autumn 2 with another action-packed half term at Cropwell Bishop. The boys’ football team kicked things off with a dramatic 2–1 victory in their opening league match, sealed by a brilliant last-minute winning goal – a great display of determination right to the final whistle.
Our sporting calendar then broadened across the school, giving pupils from all year groups opportunities to shine. A group of KS2 pupils took part in the Equals Trust Boccia Tournament, demonstrating impressive accuracy, teamwork and a wonderfully sporting attitude throughout the competition. Shortly afterwards, a team of Year 5/6 pupils rose to the challenge at the Indoor Rowing Competition, pushing themselves to achieve personal bests while showing fantastic encouragement for one another.
The enthusiasm continued across the younger years too. Our KS1 pupils enjoyed a fun-filled evening at the Fundamentals Festival, developing their movement, balance and coordination, while children in Years 3 and 4 represented the school brilliantly at the Sports Skills Festival, trying out new activities and strengthening their teamwork.
It has been a brilliant term of sport across the whole school, with pupils showing commitment, confidence and pride in every event. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
