Hello Class Four,

Hope you all had a lovely Easter. I am seeing and hearing about lots of fantastic things you’ve been doing to keep busy from Easter bonnets to wonderful  writing, amazing art and magnificent maths! TTRS won’t always feature on your home learning menus, but do remember to keep practising.  We already  have many Rock Legends among us and particular congratulations go to Matthew on his Rock Hero status! Super achievement- well done!

Remember the reading race is running until the end of April, so keep building reading into your day. As well as being a pleasurable way to pass the time, it will give you lots of ideas and vocabulary for your own writing.

Even though school remains closed, we are now starting the Summer term and a new topic, “Home and Away”. At the moment, our lives are all about staying at home which gives us a perfect opportunity to find out about the local area. On your second home learning menu, there are activities linked to this which need some research but this can include having some really interesting conversations with family members to find out more about where you live and come to school. What is Cropwell Bishop famous for? How has the village changed over time? We will then look a bit further afield to Nottingham, its history and its attractions. Sadly, we are unable to go away as a class to our residential destination, Castleton, but we will do some activities soon to help you learn about this beautiful part of the Peak District. Our remaining Science topic is all about habitats, and again, we’ll start soon by exploring the wildlife in our own back gardens!

Fingers crossed the sunny weather continues – it certainly makes a difference!

Look after yourselves and your families.
