Year 5’s First Ever Residential Adventure!

Last week, Year 5 headed off on their very first residential trip—and what an unforgettable experience it was! Our destination? The beautiful and historic Beaumanor Hall in Loughborough.
We stayed in cosy wooden cabins, complete with bunk beds and sleeping bags. The days were packed with adventure. One of our favourite challenges was building bridges out of wooden planks and string… then crossing them! It took teamwork and communication skills. We ventured into the woods for an activity called Nightline. Wearing special blackout goggles, we had to navigate a tricky course using only a rope to guide us. It was spooky, thrilling, and full of laughter!
Mealtimes were a treat too. We ate in the grand main hall. On our second day, we tried our hand at archery. Channelling our inner Robin Hoods, we aimed for the target. It was so much fun (and yes, our arms definitely felt it afterwards!).
There was also plenty of time to relax and play, exploring the grounds and making special memories with our friends. It was a whirlwind of fun, adventure, and laughter—and it flew by far too quickly!
