Year 2 Take Flight at Newark Air Museum!

As part of their History of Flight unit, our enthusiastic Year 2 pupils recently took a fascinating trip to the Newark Air Museum — and what a day it was!
The children explored a wide variety of aircraft, gaining hands-on experience and learning how aviation has evolved through the years. From early flying machines to modern marvels, the visit brought their classroom learning to life in the most exciting way.
One of the highlights of the day was a paper aeroplane workshop, where pupils tested their design skills and learnt about the principles of flight. Another unforgettable moment was getting up close to a Wessex Helicopter — with the thrilling opportunity to peek inside the cockpit!
The trip was a fantastic blend of education and adventure, sparking curiosity and inspiring future aviators. A big thank you to the staff and volunteers at Newark Air Museum for making the experience so memorable.
